Dr Andre Grobler
Senior lecturer
I have been involved in active magnetic bearing research, specifically eddy current position sensing, as part of my M.Eng study. My PhD is titled “Thermal modelling of a high speed permanent magnet synchronous machine”. I worked as an electric engineer at a consulting and design company in the petrochemical industry for 7 months. As senior lecturer I teach Electromagnetics and Electric machines. My research focus is on permanent magnet machines, ranging from wind generators to high speed machines.
