Power management and sizing optimisation of of renewable energy hydrogen systems
Supervisor
To ensure efficient operation of intermittent renewable energy with hydrogen production systems the optimal combination of renewable sources, storage capability, production capacity, and power management is crucial. A renewable energy hydrogen system, consisting of PV, wind turbine, battery bank, PEM electrolyser, hydrogen storage unit and power converters are modelled in Matlab/Simulink. Both the component sizing and control settings are optimised using a multi-objective optimisation algorithm using site specific input data. The objective is to improve the system efficiency and sizing through optimisation, control, and component configuration.
