Dr Boitumelo Mogwase

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Boitumelo Mogwase obtained her BSc in Biology and Chemistry from the University of the North-West in Mafikeng (later re-named to North-West University), BSc Hons Chemistry from NWU-Mafikeng. She was employed as a teacher in one of the high schools in Khutsong-Carletonville, later joined Anglo Platinum as a Joint initiative priority skill acquisition (JIPSA) graduate Chemist. In 2009 joined NWU-Potchefstroom where she obtained her MSc Chemistry in 2013 and is about to receive her PhD in Chemistry. Her PhD research focused on the electrochemistry of halide-related reactions on platinum surfaces employing quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). She was sponsored by HySA Infrastructure for her MSc and PhD. During her PhD she was selected for NAM-S&T DST fellowship in Mintek for 3 months and also she was employed by HySA Infrastructure as a part-time student assistant, later employed for 3 months as a research assistant. Thereafter she is enrolled with HySA Infrastructure as a post-doctoral fellow
