Dr Neels le Roux
Dr Neels le Roux is the Facilities Manager at HySA Infrastructure, North-West University, where he oversees the development and operation of hydrogen and green ammonia research infrastructure. With more than 20 years of experience in research, higher education, laboratory management, and technical project leadership, he has played a key role in implementing strategic hydrogen technology projects and specialised research facilities.
He holds a PhD in Chemistry and has extensive expertise in hydrogen infrastructure, safety management, project management, and research support. His work includes the implementation of hydrogen storage systems, fuel cell demonstration projects, renewable energy integration initiatives, green ammonia facilities, and pilot-scale hydrogen technologies.
Dr le Roux has lectured in chemistry, supervised postgraduate students, and contributed to peer-reviewed research and international conferences. He is passionate about advancing hydrogen technologies, developing research capacity, and supporting South Africa’s transition to a sustainable hydrogen economy.
